BABY: Pink or Blue.... It don't matter

Gender Neutral from Joules

I've been thinking about this long and hard. It's a tricky decision to make, especially when your gut says you might change your mind on the day, but here goes.... I had no intention of finding out the gender of Baby Bee at my 20 week ultrasound scan.

My instinct for a long time has said not to find out, and I have a number of reasons for my decision which I thought I'd share!

First of all the biggy! What if the sonographer gets it wrong?! Now I know technology has vastly improved but there is always the possibility of inaccuracy! Then you've decked out a nursery and wardrobe in pink and tutus, to have a bouncing boy move into the room a few weeks later. Of course this isn't common, but I wouldn't want to take the risk.

I guess though for me, the main reason I don't want to find out is that I just don't care if baby is a he or a she, so long as Baby Bee is healthy, I just don't mind. I have absolutely no preference.

And there's practical reasons for not knowing too. The nursery can be gender neutral meaning it is ready for future babes, as well as a unisex starter wardrobe and newborn kit, which means less expense when it comes to buying for baby no.2, if you're that way inclined (which I am... In fact maybe even baby no.3!!). Baby set up is expensive... I should know, I've been number crunching for weeks, so if I can save in the long term... Why not!!

I was also really inspired by Sophia at Tattooed Tealady with her baby announcement post. She said her other half was the one to say she'd had a baby girl, and honestly that thought alone made my heart stop. I can't think of anything more perfect than for Dann to be the one to say baby boy or girl. We have our names so we will know what to call them straight away!

Plus I'm honestly looking forward to the surprise. And if it's good enough for my mum, who didn't find out for me or my sisters, then it is good enough for me.

What about you? Are you expecting? Do you plan to find out the gender or not, or even if you're not expecting, which way do you think you'll go? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Also how cute is this set from Joules!! It's a little big as we picked it up in the sale, but it will suit boy or girl for bedtime!
